Frankel Building Group (FBG) has begun construction in The Woodlands Reserve, a 55-lot, gated, custom luxury community in The Woodlands, Texas. The area currently is the only available new, custom neighborhood in the front of The Woodlands.
The Woodlands Reserve is comprised of lot sizes ranging from 12,000 to 23,000 square feet and surrounded by the George Mitchell Nature Preserve. The community will feature a mixture of Southern French, Coastal and Southern Coastal architecture and each home will range between 4,000 to 6,000 square feet. Prices start at $1 million.
“We’re very proud to be building our homes here. They’ll have nice open porches in front and back of the house with great views. This is one of the nicest land layouts we’ve ever seen,” said Scott Frankel, a principal with the Houston-based custom home builder.
Streets already are complete and six homes, in addition to pre-sales, are under construction and slated to be finished by the end of the year. All the houses will be pier and beam constructions, which enables Frankel to adapt to the challenges of building on a low graded area without trucking in enormous amounts of fill.
“In designing and constructing the neighborhood, FBG takes great care in preserving the land’s natural surroundings while maintaining The Woodlands’ strict architectural controls,” said Kevin Frankel, vice president.
Frankel is the first custom builder in the country to adopt the LEED for Homes standards of the US Green Building Council and one of only two custom home builders in the nation that have built every house to LEED certification standards. Each home will feature highly efficient air conditioning systems, high-quality recycled materials and renewable energy sources, as well as smart home features such as electronic lighting and audio/visual controls.
The community is positioned within the established Village of Indian Springs off of Gosling Road and Woodlands Parkway. The developer is The Woodlands Development Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Howard Hughes Corporation.
