Green Building Standard Ups the ANSI

NAHB's Green Building Standard recently became the first such standard approved by the American National Standards Institute. Why is this notable? It's comprehensive. NAHB's Green Building Standard recently became the first such standard approved by the American National Standards Institute. Why is this notable?

It's comprehensive. Minimum requirements must be met in all categories. Homes that only focus on energy efficiency or indoor air quality won't qualify.

It's flexible. You can choose Bronze, Platinum, Gold or Emerald certification. The home builder, client and the market determine what level of green should be achieved on each home.

It's verifiable. Every point claimed under the standard must be visually confirmed by thirdparty inspectors or it will not be granted.
