With the Nevada desert as its backdrop, the palm tree-lined pool terrace of this Tuscan-style luxury villa outside Las Vegas provides an invitation to enjoy the outdoors that is irresistible. In addition to a sculpted pool and spa, the terrace includes a high-end, built-in barbeque and an outdoor dining room.

Outdoor entertaining space was definitely a high priority for the owners of this 3,402-square-foot custom home, located in Lake Las Vegas Resort, an exclusive water-oriented resort community 17 miles from the famous Vegas strip, according to Gary Gosztonyi, vice president of marketing for the Centex Destination Properties/Pacific Division.

The $1.2 million home features a cozy courtyard entry with a fireplace that serves as the focal point for an open-air sitting area. At the rear, the pool terrace extends the visual — and physical — space of the great room from indoors to outside.

"This house has just a wonderful seamless connection between its indoor and outdoor living spaces," says Gosztonyi of this secondary residence, which is adjacent to the 10th hole of one of the community's three signature golf courses. "You almost feel as though they are one in the same."

Although its owners built this home to serve as their vacation getaway, it more than likely will evolve into their primary residence, says Gosztonyi. "Many homes in this area begin as vacation retreats but become full-time residences as their owners spend more time here."
