Kohler plunges into the cold tub trend with a wellness-focused offering: the Kohler x Remedy Place Ice Bath. This marks the start of Kohler's partnership with Remedy Place, "the world's first social wellness club," located in New York and Los Angeles.

Kohler x Remedy Place

Founded in 2019 by chiropracter Jonathan Leary, now Kohler's lead self-care advisor, Remedy Place blends traditional spa services but with unconventional wellness offerings and a focus on socialization.

Members and the public can participate in ice bath breathing classes or sauna services, and access services including lymphatic compression, hyperbaric oxygen chambers, vitamin IV drips and shots, acupuncture, cupping, and cryo chambers. Annual memberships start at $9,000.

Kohler says its partnership with Leary support's the brand's focus on helping people live “gracious, healthy, and sustainable lives."

The collaboration could influence future product development, with Kohler hinting at offerings beyond the ice bath. If Remedy Place's offerings are any indication, consumers could potentially see Kohler-developed oxygen chambers and red-light beds.

“Dr. Leary and Remedy Place have demonstrated proven success with a dynamic offering of products and services,” said Katie Stevens, GM of Kohler Wellness, in the official press release. “Kohler has long provided our customers with bold and innovative products to help enhance their homes as a sanctuary for rest, recovery, and renewal—so working together in partnership with Dr. Leary will further advance our wellness design leadership.”

The Luxury Ice Bath

Ice baths have jumped in popularity over the last two years on social media, fueled by celebrities and athletes who tout health benefits like improved circulation and reduced inflammation, though studies on cold-water immersion remain inconclusive.

Cold plunges typically operate below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and the practice may help reduce exercise-induced muscle damage, according to the Mayo Clinic.

The Kohler x Remedy Place Ice Bath translates the sleek, dark aesthetics of Remedy Place's clubs, and is made of high-pressure laminate suitable for indoor or outdoor use.

Features include precision temperature control, ergo-dynamic body positioning, a UV-powered filtration system, and an integrated light and timer that guide breathwork. The $15,000 tub also includes optional plumbing integration for quick filling and draining, plus dimmable, ambient light surrounding the bath. Kohler's app, Kohler Konnect, offers guided breathwork sessions and additional education on the wellness practice.
