Key Highlights

  • 10,500 square-foot showcase home in Henderson, Nevada, designed to drink in natural beauty of desert and mountains.
  • Savaria Vuelift home elevator allows natural light to pour into home while delivering full 360-degree panoramic experience.

The McCullough mountain range rises from the desert just beyond Henderson, Nevada. Set into dramatic stone terrain, the exclusive 670-acre gated Ascaya community is defined by native flora, expansive open spaces with panoramic views, and 31 miles of rockery walls.

Homesites at Ascaya range in elevation from 1,900 to 3,200 feet, delivering sweeping, unobstructed views of the mountains, surrounding canyons, and the iconic Las Vegas skyline.

Blending resort-style living with estate residences and custom home opportunities, Ascaya represents luxury at its highest level. Lots range from 1.6 to 6.6 acres, priced from $2 million to $18 million.

A showcase home with a Vue

At Vista Serena, the Savaria Vuelift panoramic home elevator takes full advantage of both natural light and the home’s impressive 270-degree views. Positioned near the top of Ascaya, the residence offers 10,500 square feet of thoughtfully designed living space, along with 2,500 square feet of decks and patios, plus an infinity pool and outdoor entertaining areas—all oriented toward world-class scenery.

Developed as a showcase home in partnership with KNB Associates and constructed by Hang Ten Homes, Vista Serena highlights the latest in architectural design, construction practices, finishes, and lifestyle trends. The home was featured twice during the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders Show—first during construction in 2024, and again upon completion for the 2025 show.

“We select architecturally striking homes,” said Martin Zapp, partner at KNB Associates, in the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “Then we incorporate products that aren’t commonly specified, giving professionals the chance to see them installed and consider them for future projects.”

The homeowner, Jack Meyer, became involved through his firm, Aspire Design Studio. More than 34 industry professionals, manufacturers, subcontractors, and partners contributed to bringing the home to life.

“There are so many people who came together to make this happen,” Meyer said. “It’s truly the best of the best.”

A panoramic experience

Meyer was instrumental in including the Savaria Vuelift, noting that the views from this lot played a major role in the final land selection. With its crystal-clear hoistway and cab, the Vuelift allows natural light to pour into the home while delivering a full 360-degree panoramic experience.

Each ride reveals the desert landscape by day and a striking nighttime perspective of the Las Vegas Strip and Sphere—making every trip visually memorable.

Unlike traditional home elevators enclosed within shaftways, the Vuelift is designed to maximize visual impact inside and out. Its integrated steel-framed hoistway uses premium clear acrylic panels—featured at Vista Serena—that exceed strength requirements and resist discoloration over time. Low-iron silica glass is also available for maximum clarity without a green tint.

This integrated design allows the Vuelift to be positioned almost anywhere in the floorplan to enhance views and support daylighting strategies.

It also requires seven to ten fewer square feet than traditional elevators and a shallower pit depth of 4–12 inches.

Model matters

The Vuelift lineup includes six models in two configurations: cylindrical Round or faceted Octagonal. While the initial concept for Vista Serena featured the largest model, the Octagonal+ Glass, the project team ultimately selected the Vuelift Round Acrylic model.

In collaboration with Savaria expert Chris Baker and leading dealer A+ Elevators & Lifts, the team determined this option would best align with the home’s siting and maximize views of the Las Vegas Strip and the Sphere.

“It was a great experience to meet in person and collaborate as one team,” says Christen Hansen, Director of Project Management at A+ Elevators & Lifts. “With the architect, builder, owner, show home organizers, and Savaria involved, we identified the best solution both aesthetically and technically.”

The Round model also reflects other curved architectural elements, including the exterior façade, skylights, and the edge of the infinity pool.

“The Vuelift Round Acrylic model was the right fit for the space while preserving full panoramic views inside and out,” says Chris Baker, Senior Regional Sales Manager at Savaria.

Driven by proven technology

The Vuelift operates using a winding drum drive system, with dual drums connected to aircraft-grade cables that raise and lower the cab.

This system delivers consistent speed and higher capacity regardless of load or environmental conditions—including higher elevations like the McCullough mountain range.

Compared to pneumatic (vacuum) elevators, the winding drum provides quieter performance and a smoother, abrasion-free ride. It also avoids performance issues associated with seal wear, eliminating the risk of scratches or residue on the acrylic or glass hoistway.

Installation excellence

With the design and model selections made, A+ Elevators & Lifts, a top Savaria dealer with a special touch for the Vuelift, took over to handle the installation at Vista Serena.

Founded in 2009 by Chris Harris as a one-person shop, today A+ offers a combined 130 years of elevator and lift industry experience, and provides turnkey installation, maintenance and repair in six states: Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming.

“A+ is an incredible partner for us,” says Baker. “They are consummate professionals with a safety-first mindset. Attention to detail is important in every elevator project, and with a Vuelift going into a high-profile show home, every tiny aspect of the project matters.”
